Life saving skills while imparting life long love of the water. Creating Comfortable and Confident Swimmers

Our goal is to provide life saving skills while creating a love of the water. We teach our students to be confident and comfortable in the water, our classes are based on age and ability so we can provide the best learning environment for our students.

Barnacles

Barnacles is our first class for children to experience being in the water. We focus on water adaptation and comfort in the pool.

Barnacles
Starfish

Our introductory parent-tot class, geared towards babies 4-18 months old, focusing on comfort in the water, basic swimming skills and water safety. Our main goal in a Starfish class is for your child to be happy in the water and building comfort in the pool. The starfish level is also an important level for you and your child to begin learning skills such as; kicking, big arms, floating and submersions.

Starfish
Polliwog

Our parent-tot class geared for our older toddlers focusing on basic swimming skills, water safety, and independent movement. You and your child will be building on their comfort in the water and their independent swimming skills. We will work with each student on skills such as; increasing their breath control, independent floating and advanced water safety skills.

Polliwog
Guppy

The beginning of your child's transition into independent water exploration. Your child will be working on gaining comfort in the water and moving independently. Our main goal in a Guppy class is for your child to be happy in the water in our traditional small group lessons. We will work with each student at their own pace with a focus on comfort in the water and without the parent participating.

Guppy
Sea Horse

Your child will be working on increasing their breath control and will begin the process of being able to roll from their back to their stomach. The Sea Horse level is also an important level for your child to begin learning safety skills in the deep end, they will start off learning the skills with assistance from the teacher and are expected to complete the skill on their own in the Jellyfish level.

Sea Horse
Jellyfish

An introduction to correct head/body positioning through proper glides (floating) for about 10 ft and continual work on circle swims in the deep end. Your child will also be working on safety in the deep end in case they ever fall into a pool.

Jellyfish
Octopus

Your child will be learning the proper kicking technique while using the same prone glide position they learned in the Jellyfish level. In addition, children in the Octopus level work on a crucial safety skill of being able to swim and roll to their back for a breath and then continue swimming.

Octopus
Sea Turtle

Once the foundation of kicks has been established Sea Turtles start working on learning proper arm strokes and must complete 4 proper arm strokes with tagging. The roll transitions into both a safety skill and a swimming skill since now your child must remain with one "bunny ear" up while on their back and then bring their arm back around when they roll back.

Sea Turtle
Otter

Otters will be increasing their endurance by doing 6 proper arm strokes. They will also be preparing for 1-2-bubbles-breathe by doing four arms and rolling to their back to take a breath and then rolling back to their stomach and doing two more arms. This skill also establishes a beginning for your swimmer to learn how to swim for longer distances.

Otter
Porpoise

Our porpoise focus on learning 1-2-bubbles-breathe with proper side breathing and beginning to learn backstroke. Our goal is to establish rhythmic arms with a breath after every four strokes. For the porpoise level we are primarily focusing on developing the backstroke kick first. Your swimmer will still learn the backstroke arms but the emphasis will be on the kick.

Porpoise
Sea Lion

Sea Lion's continue to work on a more advanced technique of 1-2-bubbles breathe and backstroke. Your swimmer will now be introduced to a bent arm over the water recovery for freestyle. In addition, your child will be working on a more rhythmic backstroke.

Sea Lion
Marlin

Marlins work on becoming masters of freestyle and backstroke. Your swimmer will now start learning 1-bubbles-breathe which will help your swimmer be comfortable breathing on both sides. Also, your swimmer will stop tagging their hands to allow for a rhythmic freestyle. For backstroke your swimmer will be adding rotation to allow for a more efficient stroke. Lastly, your swimmer will start learning elementary backstroke which is a great transition into the breaststroke kick.

Marlin
Orca

In the Orca level your swimmer will work towards mastering breaststroke. While the main focus will be on breaststroke your swimmer will still be working on maintaining their skills in freestyle and backstroke. As with all of our strokes we will begin by teaching the kick first and then the arms. This can be a difficult stroke for your child to learn as it doesn't move in the same way as the others.

Orca
Flying Fish

In the Flying Fish level your swimmer will work towards mastering butterfly. In order to complete the Flying Fish level your swimmer must complete a technically correct 100 yard IM (one lap of each stroke) without any breaks.

Flying Fish
Flying Fish II

Our Flying Fish II class is designed to focus on technique while exposing your child to more endurance work. While the primary focus will be more towards technique your swimmer will be exposed to some endurance training in each class. In order for your child to pass this class your swimmer must be able to complete a technically correct 200 IM (two laps of each stroke) without any breaks.

Flying Fish II
Hammerhead

The Hammerhead level is our last level and is geared primarily toward endurance with a portion of the class focused on technique. At this level your child has not only mastered the strokes but is also developing specific skills such as flipturns, IM turns, and pulldowns. In order for your child to pass this class your swimmer must be able to complete a technically correct 400 IM (four laps of each stroke) with proper turns and without any breaks.
